About Dingo Digits

What this is

Dingo Digits is a small site of number puzzles you can play straight away in a browser: sudoku, kakuro, skyscrapers, a sliding fifteen and a mine finder. The colours borrow from dry country in the late afternoon (red earth, gum leaves, a pale sky) because number puzzles do not have to look like a spreadsheet.

How the puzzles are made

Every puzzle comes from a generator that builds a candidate grid and a separate solver that tries to finish it using only logical steps. If the solver cannot finish without guessing, or if the grid has more than one solution, it is discarded. The level of a puzzle is the hardest technique the solver needed.

Numbered puzzles are fixed: the number is the seed for the generator, so puzzle 5307 is the same grid on every device. The notes on each puzzle page are measured from that grid, not written by hand.

What we leave out

There are no accounts, no adverts, no trackers and no leaderboards. The site does not count you. Your saved games, times and streaks are kept in your own browser and nowhere else.
